Trident Digital Village Project

Creating Wiki’s & Online Task Management Tools.

Today we continues with created the Trident Digital Village Wiki site, we have added content to each sup page and linked them in with our individual personal blogs. We will need to continue updating the wiki site as the project progresses, however the interface is a little tedious and personally think in the future we should move to creating a bespoke website for the Digital Village Project.

We also all signed up for Live Brum accounts so we can keep up-to-date with local events and activity so we can pass on information through our blogs and publications.

The second part of the day we took a look at online task management tools, as throughout the duration of this project we will be working in partnership with Meshed Media who will manage the project remotely and visit the site 2 days a week. So we are going to utilize online task management tools in order make sure productivity is well managed.

Here are a few of the online task management tool I looked at:

Todo List, Always have your todo list at hand. You can get Toodledo on your mobile phone, in your email, on your calendar, in your RSS reader, via IM, and integrated directly into your web browser. You can even print up a special foldable booklet that will fit in your pocket.

37 Signals has three different products with to-do list capabilities depending on the nature and scope of the work:

– Basecamp – Large Group Project Management and Group Collaboration

– Backpack – Solo or Small Group. Like having a personal intranet.

– Highrise – Contact Management. Keep track of who your business talks to, what was said, and what to do next.

Google Calendar, especially if you want to share that to-do list with others. My favoriote to-do list as it fully scyronises with portable devices, best part of it is its free!
And we finished the day with a online film  Us Now A film project about the power of mass collaboration, government and the internet.
