Last Friday we ran the first the pool tournament here at the Trident Digital Village. We ran the project even thought it wasn’t technically a digital project. As we thought it was a good way to create positive social cohesion between the communities that lives in this social housing estate.

The preparations of this project were a lot more complex then we all first thought as the pool table had a number of issues that needed resolving. So the mission started with 3hrs till the residents started arriving we had a broken pool table, missing balls, no keys to access it, no prize for the winner, no snacks and drinks.

We all split into different groups and tackled different issues, a few went to the stores to buy supplies and food while the others tackled sorting out the table.

–          We got new balls

–          New locks for pool table

–          Sorted the Prize with management

–          Opened up the Kitchen

–          Sorted a scoring system

And we were ready!

The competition was a huge success with many people taking part and lots of spectators too!

The players were of a fairly high standard too, so the tournament was intense!

Everyone that attended was very happy with the event and couldn’t thank us enough, they all appreciated that we put the effort in to make people feel welcome and created an even everyone was happy with.
